4 rivers began with a simple conviction: that great BBQ is an act of love — slow, intentional, and made to be shared.
Founded in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, 4rivers grew from weekend cook-offs at the confluence of four local waterways — the Warrior, Sipsey, Locust Fork, and Mulberry. Our founders, rooted deeply in Southern tradition, believed the best food brings communities together. That belief is baked into every brisket, every slab of ribs, and every jar of house-made sauce we produce.
Today, the 4 rivers smokehouse stands as a testament to patience and craft. We still use the same wood-fired pits, the same low-and-slow methodology, and the same recipes handed down through generations. What has changed is scale — we now serve thousands of guests each month, but each plate is prepared with the same care as that first backyard feast.
Every cut is smoked over authentic Alabama hardwood — hickory, oak, and cherry — for 12–18 hours.
